Welcome to the Black Hills Film Resource Council Website.
The Black Hills of South Dakota provides a rich and varied palette for filmmakers. Within one or two hours of each other, you'll find historical towns, the stark landscapes of the Badlands, pine forests with striking rock formations, ghost towns, Native American culture, a re-created 1880 Town, the 1880 Train that still winds through the hills, waterfalls, prairies, mountains, and breathtaking vistas. And we have talented, experienced people: Native American and Cavalry re-enactors, cowboys in period costumes, and veteran crew from hairdressers to grips to camera operators. Best of all, you'll find a warm welcome and the support of the communities committed to making your filming experience a great one.
